METREL: Changes to MI 3201/MI 3202/MI 3205

We have made modifications to the MI 3201 TeraOhm 5 kV Plus, MI 3202 GigaOhm 5 kV, and MI 3205 TeraOhmXA 5kV and associated accessories due to changes in the EN 61010-2-034 standard. These modifications entail an increased protective edge around the START button, and a recessed bottom and an increased (1 mm) connector length on the green banana connector on test leads.

CAUTION:
New test leads can be used on “OLD” MI 3201/MI 3202/MI 3205 testers, but old test leads CANNOT be used on “NEW” MI 3201/MI 3202/MI 3205 testers. Combining old and new measuring cables is not allowed.

TELLING THEM APART:
The easiest way to distinguish between the “OLD” and “NEW” accessories is to look at the studs of metal banana connectors (look at two pictures below). “NEW” accessories have BLUE studs, while “OLD” accessories have RED and GREY studs.

A 1939 RED 10 kV shielded test lead with large red HV test clip is replaced with A 1823 RED HV measurement lead, Red plug/HV crocodile, HVX

A 1655 GRE Test lead, Green, 0.75mm2, CAT III is replaced with
A 1806 GRE Test lead, Green, 0.75mm2, Stack. ban. plug/Stack. ban. plug – HVX
Available test leads in 2M, 2.5M, 3M, 5M, 10M and 15M length.

A 1623 HV test lead RED shielded is replaced with A 1807 2M HV test lead, Red banana plug/Red banana plug - HVX shielded
Available test leads in 2M, 2.5M, 3M, 5M, 10M and 15M length.

A 1624 HV test lead BLK shielded is replaced with A 1808 2M HV test lead, Black banana plug/Black banana plug - HVX shielded
Available test leads in 2M, 2.5M, 3M, 5M, 10M and 15M length.
