UPGRADE: MI 3144 Euro Z 800 V

This newsletter is to inform you that we have extensively upgraded MI 3144 Euro Z 800 V, our versatile high current testing adapter, in response to the market demand for line and loop impedance measurements on photovoltaic installations with 800 V L-L/460 V L-N nominal voltages. The upgrade encompasses significant changes to the firmware and the hardware to fulfil the safety requirements (CAT IV/600 V environments) prescribed for an extended operational voltage range (800 V nominal and 880 V L-L maximum voltage).

This makes the MI 3144 Euro Z 800 V currently the only instrument on the market that can safely measure line impedance on electrical systems with 800 V nominal and 880 V L-L maximum voltages. However, keep in mind that the production of upgraded MI 3144 Euro Z 800 V adapters only started in Q4 2022. Upgraded adapters come with hardware (HW) version 3.2 and firmware (FW) version 1.1.20 (both can be checked in SW 1304 aMESM Android app under “Instrument info”) and can be identified by a serial number higher than 22052353.
Older versions (pre-HW 3.2/FW 1.1.20 versions) can be upgraded upon request and exclusively by Metrel service department.
