Metrel PQA: new accessories

We would like to inform you that we are in trial phase of replacing the markings (stickers, screen printings etc.) on our power quality (PQA) current clamps with special marking rings, which are going to be used for marking L1, L2, L3 and LN current clamps. On each cable segment of the current clamp (connector and measuring sensor side), there are going to be two marking rings, positioned as explained below.

Explanation of ring marking system:
- L1: Rings “l” and “1”.
- L2: Rings “l” and “2”.
- L3: Rings “l” and “3”.
- LN: Rings “l” and “N”.

Marking rings are also going to be available to purchase separately, in two versions. The A 1941 Marking rings 4 – 5 mm and A 1940 Marking rings 5 – 6 mm. They differ, as it is obvious from the naming, in the diameter of the cable they can clasp, but come in the same-quantity packages with the same content, as listed down below.

And the benefits of this marking approach? They’re numerous:
- Simpler and more transparent labelling of current clamps.
- No white screen print on the clamp connector.
- Same labelling approach on all PQA current clamps.
- No need for current clamp sets.
- More streamlined and transparent current clamp ordering process: Instead of ordering the S 2043 (4 x A 1227 clamps) current clamp set, four A 1227 clamps can be ordered instead.
- Easy fulfilment of requests for specific current clamps: Delivering requested number of clamps and marking rings.

The trial phase will in the beginning encompass A 1227, A 1227 5M, A 1445, A 1446, A 1582 current clamps, followed by all the remaining PQA current clamps at the conclusion of the trial phase. Also, due to the new marking approach, we are going to remove clamp sets like the S 2043, S 2043 5M, S 2059, and S 2060 from our product portfolio.

In addition to replacing the markings with marking rings, we are also replacing the S 2014 Safety fuse adapter, 3 pcs with S 2141 Measuring lead with safety fuse 2m, another new accessory. The latter serves the same function as the former – an elegant and efficient connection between a measured object and a PQA and has several important features (list down below) that further augment its versatility.

Main features (S 2141 Measuring lead with safety fuse 2 m):
- Enhanced user protection (1000 V CAT IV, reinforced insulation).
- Pollution resistance (environments of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree).
- Fuses: 6,35 x 32 mm; 500 mA, 1000 V, 30 kA, P/M Fuse 6x32-0A5-1000 V.
- Protection against short circuits (see rated current and voltage on the fuses).
- Support for currents of up to 20 A.
- In accordance with EN/IEC 61010-031:2008.
- In accordance with EN/IEC 60529:2009 (IP2x touch-proof protection).
- Complies with the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2006/95/EC.
- Set includes: 3 voltage test leads (length 2 m) with fuses and A 1941 Marking rings 4 - 5 mm.
