Continuity testers
High Voltage Insulation / Continuity / Earth / Transformer
Whereas high electrical resistance is a desired quality for insulation materials, the opposite is true for conductors of all shapes and sizes that have to conduct electricity with minimal loses. Like in their counterparts, properties of conductors are degraded by physical and chemical factors and improper construction.
Measuring very low resistances in large conductors such as windings, breakers and busbars requires high current to minimize errors as well as the use of 4-wire Kelvin method to eliminate errors due to lead and contact resistances. Selected Metrel continuity testers use both this method and currents up to 100 A to ensure the highest measuring accuracy possible.
Which is the best for you?
Features*
- Four measuring modes: automatic, single, continuous and inductive.
- Automatic thermal EMF elimination (with automatic bidirectional measurement).
- Temperature compensation: measured resistance can be adjusted according to ambient temperature (entered manually or measured by an external probe).
- Custom limits: limits can be set for PASS / FAIL evaluation of test results.
- Built-in memory for easy storage of a large number of test results.
- Stored test results can be transferred to a PC (via RS-232 or USB) with software, which enables the downloading, review, analysis and printing of the test results.
